The infamous bungling trio Team Rocket has returned to Pokemon Masters in a new limited-time event.

These foils to Ash Ketchum and his pals from the Pokemon anime have once again appeared the gacha game Pokemon Masters. The trio of Jessie, James, and Meowth have also made appearances in the Red and Blue re-imaginings Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!, Niantic's mobile game Pokemon Go, and Pokemon Masters in July.

The first event, called “Double Trouble,” had the team trying to track down the mythical Pokemon Celebi. Players who completed the event were able to unlock Jessie with her original companion, Arbok. Now James is in the spotlight, as completing this new event will unlock him in a sync pair with Weezing.

Pokemon Masters EX event Blasting Off Again has begun

The synopsis for this new Pokemon Masters event, titled “Blasting Off Again,” hints that Team Rocket is planning to steal Pokemon during the fireworks festival on Pasio, the mobile game's setting. Players will have to play the event, which began this past Wednesday and will continue through January 24, 2021, to find out more.

Pokemon Masters is in the midst of celebrating its one-year anniversary, with a host of new features like an Elite Four challenge, as well as log-in rewards and bonuses for players like gems and items. The game was rebranded to Pokemon Masters EX to commemorate the occasion, which led an unfortunate moment as many read its Twitter hashtag to be #PokemonMasterSex.

Another event happening in Pokemon Masters right now is the “Family Ties” event, featuring the Pokemon Sun and Moon family of Lillie, Gladion, and their mother Lusamine.

Pokemon Masters is available now on Android and iOS.
