SEGA has announced that Phantasy Star Online 2 will be growing yet again when Episode 5 launches on September 30th. The “Road to Episode 5” event has already started and players can score a number of login bonuses from now through September 29th. Everyone participating in the “Urgent Quest” will have a chance to receive as much as 3.5M EXP, up to 300 SG, and an Augment Transfer Pass. There is also a Limited-Time Quest available that will net players 80SG, an emote, and a chance at other rare items and EXP.
In Episode 5, following the aid of those on Earth, players discover a mysterious portal that leads to another dimension, called “Omega.” This world seems driven purely by fantasy, a world of swords and magic instead of technology and science. The two worlds are in direct contrast with each other, and as the story progresses, players will frequently move between them while observing the strange similarities these worlds share. Simultaneously, a mysterious woman who calls herself “Alma” appears, and she seems to have information about Omega and–strangely–about ARKS.
Episode 5 brings some new content and features to players including:
- a level cap increase to 90
- new ARKS missions
- additional zones and locations to explore
- new enemies
- additional quest types and rewards
- new seasonal events
- a brand new Alliance Quarters
- Photon Art and Technique levels are going up and additional Photon Art, Techniques, and Battle Arena weapons are being added
