While fans of The Outer Worlds wait for The Outer Worlds 2 to happen someday, there is at least something new for them to enjoy from Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division. The game’s first major add-on, the Peril on Gorgon DLC, is now available.

The first of two narrative expansions planned for the open-world sci-fi RPG, Peril on Gorgon will see the crew of the Unreliable follow “a severed arm and a mysterious message” to The Outer Worlds’ newest location, the Gorgon Asteroid. It’s here that they’ll come upon the site of a disastrous Halcyon science experiment that has become riddled with monsters and marauders warped by science.

Obsidian promises plenty of intrigue and danger as players set out to uncover what happened on Gorgon. In addition to new locales to explore and enemies to fight, Peril on Gorgon introduces three new weapons, including a melee weapon known as the P.E.T., or Pest Extermination Tool. Rounding off the new content are an increased level cap, new perks and flaws, and new armor sets (plus new variants for existing sets), as well as new audio logs that dig deeper into the lore behind the Gorgon Project.

Peril on Gorgon is currently available for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One versions of The Outer Worlds, and will be coming to the Switch at a later date (Obsidian didn’t provide a reason for the delay, but it’s possible the Switch port’s recent technical problems may have something to do with it). As for price, the DLC costs $14.99 and is included in the game’s $24.99 Expansion Pass.

The Outer Worlds is available for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
