Activision just revealed a ton of new information about this year's upcoming title, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and among that information was a reveal of the starting time for the next Call of Duty multiplayer open beta. This will allow players to get a hands on experience with the game before it releases, and give Treyarch vital information as well.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has been highly anticipated for quite some time, and now fans finally have an official release date and more information to go along with it. Players wanting to get their hands on the game early should be sure to check out the open beta.

The game is scheduled to release to the public on November 13th, three days after the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S hit the market. This will make Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War the first Call of Duty game on next generation consoles.

The open beta has multiple phases and will take place over two weekends in October. The first weekend's open beta begins on October 8th and is exclusive to players on PS4. Only those that have already pre-ordered the game from the PS Store will be able to take part in the first two days, and then from October 10th to the 12th, the beta will open up for all PS4 players to enjoy.  The following weekend is much less exclusive and is available to everyone, though it follows a similar pattern as the first week.

PC and Xbox One players that have pre-ordered the game will gain early access to the open beta starting on October 15th, and PS4 players will be able to play during this time regardless of whether or not they've pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. From then on, the beta will open to all players on all consoles from October 17th to October 19th. Though the exclusivity of this approach may be frustrating to some, it should also help Treyarch manage their server capacity and lessen the weight of crashes once the open beta begins.

Activision makes it clear that more details about the specifics of what the beta will include are to be announced soon, so interested fans should stay tuned. It has been made clear that this open beta will feature the multiplayer mode specifically, though, so fans shouldn't expect too much from the campaign or zombies modes of Black Ops Cold War just yet.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War releases November 13th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X.
