Even though it's only been less than a month, Microsoft Flight Simulator has proven to be a smash hit for Microsoft. According to early numbers, the game has been downloaded over 1 million times, making it Xbox Game Pass for PC's best launch yet. Naturally, when games on PC see a huge player base, modders flock to them and attempt to see what crazy mods can be created to enhance the experience. One new mod for Microsoft Flight Simulator is the epitome of this mentality, adding the King of Monsters to the title.

Nexus Mods user Sergio Perea has created a new mod for Microsoft Flight Simulator that adds Godzilla to the San Fransisco Bay. Once downloaded, players can soar through the skies at coordinates 37.792394, -122.378850, where they will find the 2014 version of the classic kaiju exuding its menacing aura. Perea has added on the download page that if the mod does well, he will also do King Kong scaling the Empire State Building.

This isn't the first mod that has added content to the flight sim. Recently, a third-party developer called Drzewiecki Design created a mod for Microsoft Flight Simulator adding Washington landmarks to the game. Drzewiecki's mod was created in an effort to fix some of Flight Simulator's algorithmic issues that caused certain locations to randomly not appear, such as The White House and the Washington Monument.

Mods that have been created for the game haven't just been for adding things that were missing from the original. Other Flight Simulator modders have created mods to fix issues with the game. Some of these fixes have included adding a collection of Kowloon station buildings in Hong Kong as well as adding new details to the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Thanks to Bing, Microsoft Flight Simulator has seen many strange glitches that have given players a good chuckle. One such graphical glitch saw Buckingham Palace transformed from the lavish estate that most people know it to be, to an office building that seemed like it was ripped straight out of the '90s. These glitches also were responsible for the 200-floor skyscraper in Melbourne, Australia.

Despite the many issues found in Microsoft Flight Simulator, players seem to be loving their time with the game. With critical reviews naming the flight sim one of 2020's best games and modders continuing to add and fix content, Microsoft Flight Simulator seems to have a very long life ahead of it.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is available now on PC, and an Xbox One version currently in development.
