Mediatonic to use Epic's Easy Anti-Cheat for Fall Guys

Fall Guys developer Mediatonic has said that it will be adding the same anti-cheat system as Fortnite does in an upcoming update.

In a post on Twitter (below), the studio apologised for the cheating problem which is plaguing its smash hit and said it would be adding Easy Anti-Cheat in "the next couple of weeks." Furthermore, Mediatonic said that it was tweaking its current cheat detection system to make it easier to axe those who are using hacks.

Fall Guys launched at the start of August and has spent the last five weeks at the top of the Steam charts. The title has been downloaded seven million times on Steam alone – as of the end of last month – and is the most popular game in Sony's Instant Game Collection for PlayStation Plus.

Mediatonic has also used the game to raise $1m to industry charity Special Effect.

Epic bought security firm Kamu, the maker of Easy Anti-Cheat, in October 2018. The tech is used in games including Fortnite, Apex Legends, Gears 5 and The Division.
