Marvel's Avengers is out right now on PS4 (if you nabbed the Deluxe Edition), and it's reasonably safe to assume that it'll be a big seller. As it turns out, last month's beta was the most downloaded beta to ever grace a PlayStation console. With the many, many high profile betas that have come and gone over the years, that's pretty impressive -- even if the game's piggybacking on one of the world's most popular properties.
Having said all that, the beta wasn't well received by everyone. Reactions appeared to be fairly mixed, and it could be that the beta actually put some people off buying the full release. Fortunately, our Marvel's Avengers reviewer Liam Croft assures us that the finished game is, er, much better than the beta. You can expect our review next week, by the way.

Didn’t try the beta, heard some terrible things. But I’ve got this (managed to get for free) and it’s actually really great. Very surprised.
It convinced me to wait until it's marked down and they actually outline their content strategy.
More characters don't mean much (to me) if the stuff you run through is boring, which a lot of it was in the beta.
I wasn’t a fan. Collecting loot that doesn’t change your appearance was a huge turn-off for me. Tracking stat numbers in a game like this is bleh.
Doesn't surprise me, with the success of the avenger films and how Marvel film industry has elevated since the start of the 2000's its became one of the biggest franchises around, dare say bigger than DC
I’ll wait until it goes F2P/copies selling for £2 in CEX. It’ll be a year, tops.
It was a basic beat' em up kinda game that I honestly liked , reminds me of the ps2 days. I will wait for a discount while more content is added to it.
Impressive! Can't wait to play on Friday!!
Wow. I suppose beta numbers aren't too high, but... Trashy MMO beat 'em up based around an over saturated franchise that the publishers will attempt to milk further and it still seems people can't wait to be disappointed.
Beta was ok. Just seemed it needed more work.
Waiting for a few patches and some more content to hit. I'll rent it (like MUA3) and check it out again later on
Combat is more fluid to me in the actual game, than the beta
The game isn't perfect. But its a decent game. You like marvel I can recommend this game.
Or maybe Marvel's characters are immensely popular, their movies prove that.
@BalsBigBrother Many things are incredibly popular, but still don't do well in other formats. Spider-man is one of the most popular characters, yet didn't sell anywhere near as much as Insomniac's Spider-man.
As beta's go, I enjoyed this one and I will buy the game soon after launch.
In enjoying the game a lot. Got the 3 days early access but it's more of a Ms Marvel game which the Avengers feature in a little bit. But then I'm only around 7 hrs in so ....just my observation so far .
These type of games. You mark it on your calendar a year after launch 🗓 And then you research it. And decide if you want it or not. And if its a yes. The go into psprices.com and ☑ on your wish list 📃 . Wait for that email and buy for 15 dollars 💵. Easy ✌️
And what percentage did delete it immediately or after the first 5 minutes?
Which goes to show a lot of people were not sure if they wanted to buy the game and decided to check the beta out.
@AyanamiReign Which I think should be applauded. You got to taste the game and make a choice. Beta won me over.
Yeah that was because of the free items in Fortnite. Both my sons beat the demo just for the items. I asked them if they wanted the full game and both said no.
For some reason I had the impression you had to preorder to play the beta. Not sure where that idea came from but had I been paying better attention I probably would have tried it as well.
I got the beta, but ended up not playing it to be honest as I decided to go into the game spoiler free and with a fresh perspective. But, I did my research and decided to pre order the game. So far, I am loving it and hope this game will be successful so it can be supported for years to come.
Having tried the beta, it was really bad. However, I ended up buying the $80 version to play early and it is way better than the beta was.
It may be a decent game but I’m not touching it, it’s riddled with microtransactions and I won’t support it.
It’s going to sell crazy well though and make SE a ***** ton of dollars, so who cares if just one guy on the internet won’t support it.
The biggest downloaded beta in history to fit the biggest disappointment in history.
I'll probably just wait for the ps5 version. They'll probably have better content by then as well so win win!
@starbuck2212 yeah, it's a good thing your sons represent the average gamer who played the beta.
From previews etc it's seems it would of been better as a single player game as the live service bits are the worst , the story's supposed to be good and plays better than beta
Played the beta, think I'm on board with the "wait for a price drop" boat. Liked the explosions, the action was alright.....but the gameplay. I guess I was looking for Arkham City, and got Arkham....... eh never mind
And did it win the most crappest
