It looks like the developers behind Rogue Company are getting a new map design from one of the biggest faces in video games right now. Dr Disrespect has only been back to streaming for a week, but he dove back in headfirst. Doc took to Twitter with his own plans for a Rogue Company map idea, titled The Arena, and the developers were quick to respond.
Rogue Company released in closed beta back in July, but it has already garnered a lot of fans. The game is set to release in full later this year, and there is a full roadmap out for players to anticipate what is to come. Rogue Company allows console players a bridge between games like Overwatch and CS:GO. The competitive hero shooter doesn’t provide anything particularly new, but it seems to have a refined grasp on what it does well.
The Doc took to Twitter with a map design, asking the game developers if they thought it would be a good fit for the game. A positive response was quickly given, and it looks like Dr Disrespect is now working on designing his own map for the game. Some fans are already saying it is the best map in the game, but this is of course heavily biased. It would have been interesting to see what the reception would be had people not known Doc was designing it. The map design looks pretty straightforward, being symmetrical with plenty of cover and flanking options.
It is nice to see The Doc not being shy about returning to the spotlight. While his return was teased with strange music videos and cryptic messages to streamers, the past week has seen a very welcome return of the unique streamer. Doc has done some work on games in the past, most notably being a level designer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, so it will be interesting to see if this map is a one-time thing or a part of his return.
Fans, other streamers, and even Dr Disrespect himself still know nothing about why he was suddenly and completely banned from Twitch several weeks ago. There have been rumors and theories about criminal elements and his ties to other streamers, but it looks like fans may never know the actual reasoning. However, one thing is for sure: Now that The Doc has returned to the streaming world, it looks like he is ready to take things to the next level.
