New updates are coming to The Last of Us 2, and fans will have many new features unlocked for them in the game. With the special Grounded update, players will have many new customization features available in the game. While there are interesting graphical changes that players can try, there are also many gameplay modifiers that players can utilize to make the game easier for themselves or add another layer of difficulty for an extra challenge.
This exciting update is not exclusive to The Last of Us 2 alone. The first game in the series also received the Grounded update in 2013, and while many aspects will be similar, the second game includes new elements and characters that will create an interesting dynamic to play through, especially with Abby having such different fighting strengths than Ellie.
Some of these settings in The Last of Us 2 allow players to do certain actions without limitations. Gamers can increase their Listening Mode so that there is an infinite range. Other infinite modes that can be implemented with this new update include: Infinite Ammo, Infinite Crafting, and Infinite Melee Durability. Players can also activate abilities such as One Shot and Touch of Death to allow their gun and melee attacks to instantly take out opponents. These abilities are good for players who prefer the story element of the game and may struggle through combat.
However, there are also new settings in the new update that can be activated to make the game more challenging. Along with these settings, players can also allow themselves to play through a reflected world by turning on Mirror World. If they want to add an extra level of difficulty to the mode, players can choose Mirror on Death, which will flip the world every time the player dies in the game. The update also allows players to disable the Listening Mode, so players will have to go into fights against zombies, the WLF, and the Seraphites blind. On top of the high Grounded difficulty level, these should give players a real challenge as they try to beat The Last of Us 2.
With all these new game modes that will soon be available, fans have a lot of customizable options for how they will go through The Last of Us 2. However, players will have to wait until August 13 before they can try out these settings for themselves. The Grounded updated will give players a new experience on Ellie's journey for revenge.
