Fallout 76 may have just gotten the new 21 content update, but it seems that Bethesda has more content in store for the game. Though it had to be moved to an online platform, QuakeCon showed fans new attention they can expect to see in the game, including a new enemy and a fear mechanic.

QuakeCon isn't just bringing news of Fallout 76, but the online press release showed more content for other games as well. Bethesda's yearly convention is showed of panels for games such as Doom Eternal and The Evil Within, and will continue to show off other games and panels throughout this weekend as well. However, Fallout 76 had a special boss showcase that displayed a powerful enemy that players can band together and attempt to take down.

Fallout 76 will be introducing a new boss that players can fight in the game. QuakeCon gave players a glimpse of a boss fight event called A Colossal Problem. Once Monongah mine has been blown up, gamers will be able to enter it to find an 8-player instance where the boss can be fought. The boss is a giant Wendigo monster specifically known as the Wendigo Colossus, and with 30,000 hit points, it's a difficult enemy to go up against. Along with the boss itself, there are other Wendigo minions running around the underground area that will make defeating the boss a little more complicated.

Not only will minions in making the fight more difficult, but the players will have to fight against their characters' fears as well. The event is introducing a fear mechanic in which the character will not respond to the player's control. When the boss lets out a piercing cry, the character's fear will drive them to run away from the monster for 2 to 3 seconds with their hands in the air. During this short period of time, the character won't be thinking of their self-preservation — just about getting away from the Wendigo Colossus — so they may run into hazardous materials or over cliffs. While it is not available for the general public, this boss can be fought right now by select players on test servers.

With this interesting new Fallout 76 content on the way, fans will have to learn to work around the new fear mechanic if they want to defeat the Wendigo Colossus. Upon defeat, the boss will drop a Wendigo Colossus rug that players can use to spruce up their Fallout home base.
