Animal Crossing: New Horizons just released a big new wave of content for the remainder of the summer. The Summer Update Wave 2 for New Horizons added new content and quality of life changes for the game.

Usually the official Animal Crossing: New Horizons Twitter account will detail a new update in bits and pieces. Now, Nintendo’s official YouTube channel has uploaded a one minute video that details every new change the August update brought.

New Horizons saw a big update at the beginning of summer that introduced new and returning elements to the franchise. That update was introduced as Wave 1 during it’s reveal, and now Nintendo has finally released Wave 2 of its summer updates for New Horizons. While the July 30 update patch notes that Nintendo released gave a barebones idea of all of the update’s content, Nintendo has released an official YouTube video that details various other changes.

The video contains narration from the same person who details many of various other promotional videos for New Horizons. The video covers the main content updates the game received, like the Sunday fireworks festival and Redd’s Raffle stand and items. The video also covers topics relating to the new monthly bugs and fish that have arrived to the island now that August has begun.

However, there are some notable things that the video doesn’t cover. One subtle change is the fact that custom designs are easier to search for through the kiosk in the Able Sister’s tailor shop. Additionally, the video doesn’t even mention the fact that Luna makes a return from New Leaf, or that players can now visit each other’s Dream Islands through sleeping in their beds. It feels a bit odd that Nintendo’s official video would leave out such an important update to the New Horizons experience.

Another major thing this video doesn’t cover is that fact that players can now backup and restore their islands in the event that their data is corrupted, lost, or their system is damaged. This feature has been a long awaited update by many players and members of the New Horizons community, so they are no doubt happy the feature was finally implemented. New Horizons still has plenty of updates coming in the future, so fans should keep their eyes out for updates while enjoying all the new content the game has to offer in August.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
