Loadouts make or break how successful a player will be in Call of Duty: Warzoneso when a new one comes along to challenge the throne, it's usually a good idea to give it a try. For fans of the CR-56 added in Season 4, a new loadout from Warzone YouTuber Swagg challenges even the Bruen LMG, which has been dominating lately.

Swagg's loadout is a solid option for multiple ranges, with a 45-round mag helping make the gun more competitive against larger-capacity weapons — like LMGs. Within 50 meters, the gun also has a faster time to kill than the Bruen MK9 does, which should make it an absolute beast in the right hands. The only stipulation is that players need to be able to control the recoil.

Swagg also uses Overkill and an MP5 in the class, which makes the setup more versatile, keeping it effective at a variety of distances. Luckily, the CR-56 is available as a free tier in the Season 4 battle pass, so all players have access to it, assuming they grinded out the tiers necessary to unlock the gun, or bought a bundle that featured a gunsmith option for it.

With how popular the Bruen LMG has been this season, fans can likely expect some sort of nerf for the gun in the near future. If the CR-56 is overlooked, it could dominate the meta as the Bruen has this season. Of course, that remains to be seen, and it's entirely possible that Infinity Ward focuses on squashing some of Modern Warfare's bugs before it decides to balance more weapons, though typically the developer does a little of both.

Swagg's entire loadout will require players to level up the CR-56 a fair bit before it can be replicated accurately:

  • Barrel - XRK Zodiac S440
  • Muzzle - Monolithic Suppressor
  • Optic - VLK 3.0x Optic
  • Underbarrel - Merc Foregrip
  • Ammunition - 45 Round Mags

Again, this is an effective class setup for those that are comfortable balancing recoil while in a shootout. The gun has been a fan-favorite since it released this season, but there are plenty of other Warzone loadouts out there for players that aren't as good with recoil. On the other hand, learning to take control of recoil is important for most shooters, so this is a good way to start practicing.

There should be some big changes coming to Warzone and Modern Warfare in Season 5, which releases in a few days. That means new weapons, like the rumored AN-94, and likely quite a few other surprises too.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
