Polish games studio CD Projekt RED has warned people about a Cyberpunk 2077 email scam.

In a post on Twitter, the developer said that it's aware of people receiving emails claiming to grant access to a Cyberpunk 2077 beta. CD Projekt said that any official messages from the studio would come from a cdprojektred.com address.

"If you recently received an email claiming to be granting you beta access to Cyberpunk 2077, it's not from us. Unfortunately, there have been more of these being sent out over the past few weeks. When we contact you via email, it'll always come from @ cdprojektred com address," the studio wrote.

"Same goes for content creators. We always reach out directly from @ cdprojektred com domain. If you are being contacted by a third party claiming to be working with us (an ad agency for example), you can assume it's not genuine."

It stands to reason that Cyberpunk 2077 would be the subject of a scam like this. The title is wildly-anticipated, with two release date delays only adding to the hype.

The title was initially set for an April launch, but was pushed to September at the start of 2020. It was then delayed until November in June.

China is apparently leading the region for top Cyberpunk 2077 pre-orders on Steam. The title has been localised into both Simplified Chinese and Mandarin.
