It looks like Remnant: From the Ashes is getting its final large-scale update. On Thursday, August 20th, the Subject 2923 DLC will release for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, letting players take on the source of the Root and take it out once and for all in what’s being called by the presser as the game’s most expansive update yet.

The update focuses on a new location known as Ward Prime, a military lab which yielded the first experiments on the Dreamers and explains their connection to the Root. In addition, the update will add new quests, bosses, weapons, trinkets, and armor sets.

This last bit of DLC is priced at $9.99 for all platforms, while a “complete edition” of the game with all of its DLC will also release for all platforms on August 20th for $49.99. As for what happens to Remnant after this, a PC Gamer interview with design director John Pearl explains that the devs at Gunfire Games will “fully support” the title with continued big fixing and balancing adjustments. The team is also pondering a sequel to the shooter or a similarly-styled game, particularly since the devs were “really surprised by how well it [Remnant] was received” according to Pearl.
