Developer Gunfire Games confirms that its shooter RPG, Remnant: From the Ashes, has been a huge success. While the developer is preparing to launch the game's Subject 2923 DLC on PC and consoles next month, more content for the series is possible.

In a new interview, Gunfire Games revealed that Remnant: From the Ashes sales have now hit 1.6 million copies since launch. Gunfire Games design director John Pearl also said that the development team was "really surprised by how well it was received" as the developer was independent until days before the game launched on PC. After working together on the Darksiders series, THQ Nordic purchased Gunfire Games in August 2019.

While Subject 2923 is the final DLC for Remnant: From the Ashes, it may not be the last update. Pearl confirmed that the team plans to "fully support" the game with things such as bug fixes. While Remnant: From the Ashes reviews were very positive, some did ask for smaller changes to be made, like progression to carry over for all players when enjoying the game together.

Pearl also said that "anything's possible," suggesting that a Remnant: From the Ashes sequel, or another game like it, could be made. Fans do have many questions about Remnant: From the Ashes that could be answered if it was turned into a series, but Gunfire Games hasn't officially announced anything.

Remnant: From the Ashes is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
