A new rumor claims that Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker for Disney Plus's upcoming Kenobi series. Not only that, but Christensen will go beyond just cameo appearances and play a significant role. Should this turn out to be true, then he'll likely be Obi-Wan's deuteragonist, appearing throughout all six of the show's episodes.

According to LRM — the outlet behind the rumor — the news will officially receive an announcement whenever the Kenobi series starts production in 2021. The news was originally supposed to come out during the Star Wars Celebration Festival of 2020, but because the coronavirus got the festival postponed until 2022, the announcement also got delayed.

Disney's Obi-Wan Kenobi series will take place eight years after Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, so it will be well after Anakin was forced to put on his iconic Darth Vader suit. If Hayden Christensen does return as Anakin, especially as a regular character, then Kenobi's storyline will have to get a little creative with how it incorporates him, meaning it'll have to rely on Force projections and flashbacks.

This concept will work fairly well if the show revolves around Obi-Wan learning how to become a Force Ghost from Qui-Gon Jinn and Yoda. Obi-wan can perceive Anakin through the force as Hayden Christensen, since he never actually saw him as the black-clad Darth Vader. Obi-wan also has nightmares about Anakin after their dual on Musafar, so Hayden can appear there as well.
