Just after finishing its first-ever Ubisoft Forward online event, where the publisher officially announced Far Cry 6, Ubisoft confirmed that there will be another event later this year.

Since other gaming companies like Sony, Microsoft, and EA have shifted to online-only presentations instead of having an E3 press conference this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it was only natural that Ubisoft would follow suit. But because publishers do not have to spend large amounts of money to rent an auditorium or be beholden to E3’s schedule this year, each publisher has the luxury of doing these streamed events on its own time, or even multiple times this year. Microsoft is doing just that, with its second Xbox Series X-centric event happening in just a few short days, and now Ubisoft will be too.

At the end of today’s event Ubisoft’s chief executive, Yves Guillemot said there is, “a lot more to come.” While that may not sound like a confirmation of a second event, a Ubisoft spokesperson later followed up by confirming a second Ubisoft Forward event that will feature “games news and updates.”

One would assume that since today’s event focused more on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion, that a second event would happen after one or both of those games have released and would instead focus on delivering a deeper look at Far Cry 6 before its February release.

A lot was shown at today’s Ubisoft Forward event, including an exciting look at Watch Dogs Legion. Trailers shown for the game introduced the world to the game’s main villain, Nigel Cass, the master of the private military force controlling London. In addition to showcasing the “play as anyone” mechanic, Ubisoft also announced that the game will be released on October 29 this year.

Ubisoft also delved deeper into what Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will have to offer, including a female version of protagonist Eivor who seems like she will stand apart from her male counterpart. Some great gameplay was shown, along with a confirmation of the games previously leaked November 17 release date.
