Blizzard's popular team-based hero shooter Overwatch has been making a lot of recent changes. Among these includes a new competitive game mode for its most recent season, as well as the promise of a new event coming on July 14. With this new event comes a new skin for the tank hero, Sigma, as well as a brand-new music pack for fans to enjoy.

The announcing of this event comes just hours after news of Blizzard's banning thousands of Overwatch accounts during the first few months of 2020. Due to its new competitive game mode, the banning of cheating players, as well as this new event, it is evident that Blizzard is intent on redefining the environment of its game.

As part of the new event, entitled "Sigma's Maestro Challenge," Overwatch announced via Twitter that a music pack was now available for fans, entitled "Cities and Countries." This collection features music from fan-favorite maps like Rialto, Busan, Volskaya Industries, Horizon Lunar Colony, and King's Row.

In addition to the music pack, the game's most recent tank hero, Sigma, is getting some new threads. In consistency with the music pack's cabaret theme, the scientist has received a unique maestro skin, complete with bow tie and shoulder guards, reminiscent of a cello body. In similar mini-events, such as Ana's Bastet event, players will be given a set amount of time in which they have to win a total of 9 games, which will reward them with this sophisticated skin. Additionally, players will likely get a prize at each increment of 3 victories, including sprays and/or player icons, though these rewards have yet to be revealed by Blizzard.

Despite the fact that this challenge does not go live for another two days, fans are ecstatic about the new skin and eager to get their hands on it as soon as possible. In the past, front-line heroes in Overwatch have not always received the best treatment when it comes to skins, though there are a few interesting skins for tank players.

As the year continues, new gaming news has emerged from nearly every other game company except Blizzard, who had to cancel its 2020 BlizzCon due to Coronavirus. "Sigma's Maestro Challenge" is music to the ears of many players, and brings hope that the company is still hard at work to improve their 2016 game, and even encourages fans to eagerly await the promised Overwatch 2.

Overwatch is now available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
