Last month, the PlayStation Store leaked the existence of EA Sports UFC 4, and now EA has finally given the game an official announcement, revealing its release date, cover athletes, pre-order bonuses, and more in the process.

As announced by EA Sports, EA Sports UFC 4 will launch on August 14 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Those that decide to pre-order the game will have a couple of extra fighters on their roster, including Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. Martial arts legend Bruce Lee will also be a part of the roster, but it seems players need to purchase the game through EA Sports UFC 2 or UFC 3 to get him. Beyond exclusive fighters, EA Sports UFC 4 pre-orders also come with special customization packs called Backyard and Kumite.

As far as cover athletes go, EA Sports UFC 4 will feature UFC Middleweight Champion Irsael "The Last Stylebender" Adesanya in addition to UFC Welterweight fighter Jorge "Gamebred" Masvidal. In terms of gameplay, EA Sports UFC 4 boasts a "unified progression system," brand new takedown and ground mechanics, more fluid combinations, and the "chance to experience the origins of combat sports in all-new environments." UFC president Dana White has gone as far as to say that EA Sports UFC 4 is going to be the "best fighting game ever made."

EA Sports UFC 4 has a Career Mode where players will be able to start off as a rookie in the sport and fight their way to becoming a UFC star. The unified progression comes into play because players will get progression in Career Mode as well as the other game modes, like Blitz Battles and Online World Championships. Players will be able to unlock a staggering 1,600 new pieces of gear in EA Sports UFC 4, on top of 120 emotes.

Similarly to the upcoming Madden NFL 21EA Sports UFC 4 seems to have a focus on achieving authenticity in the minute to minute gameplay, which the developers hope to accomplish with the revamped takedown and ground mechanics.

Those sold on EA Sports UFC 4 may want to consider purchasing the game through the in-game tile found in EA Sports UFC 2 or UFC 3. Doing so will not only get them the previously mentioned pre-order bonuses, but also a 10% discount, Bruce Lee, and 500 UFC points.

EA Sports UFC 4 will launch on August 14 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
