Two of the best games from 2019 have almost eerily similar names, comparability in theme, and will probably be forever intertwined. The Outer Worlds and Outer Wilds can easily be confused with one another. And now, a fan-made piece of art just added to the befuddlement.

The Outer Worlds is a space-based RPG developed by Obsidian Entertainment. The game was revealed by many to be a wonderfully crafted experience with an easily consumable playtime, as the game can be completed around 12 hours or 30 for completionists (compared to similar games like Fallout New Vegas that can take over 120 hours to complete 100%). Outer Wilds is an entirely different game developed by Mobius Digital. Outer Wilds is a puzzling adventure game with a focus on exploration. The title is beloved for its charm, music, and gripping story.

As both games were released in 2019 and have names that are super similar, they can often be confused. But at least when looking at the logo for each game it is easy to decipher which is which--until now. Twitter user @gamemakerstk posted a logo swap of the games and the internet is now more confused than ever, making it even more difficult to choose between playing The Outer Worlds or Outer Wilds.

The tweet shows two images. The first image has Outer Wilds written out with the font and logo style of The Outer Worlds, with a yellow hue and a '50s retrofuturist aesthetic. Meanwhile, the second image has The Outer Worlds written out in the font and logo style of Outer Wilds, featuring orange coloring with hints of both nature and astronomy. Confused yet? The internet is.

Both games have continued to stay in the limelight far past their respective initial and successful launches. Outer Wilds has received awards, including game of the year. And The Outer Worlds recently was ported to the Nintendo Switch. As the games continue to be on the tip of the tongue of many, the mix-up for which space odyssey is which continues, and this logo swap doesn't help.

There are tons of reasons to play Outer Wilds and The Outer Worlds. When selecting between the adventure-based exploration game and the futuristic RPG, just try not to get confused.

The Outer Worlds is available for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
