The renewed hype for Nintendo sequels is happening now that New Pokémon Snap has been announced. The original Pokémon Snap released in 1999 for the Nintendo 64. It's a game that revolves around taking pictures of Pokémon and submitting them to the professor for a rating. It sounds simple enough, but with hidden pathways and items to help you on this rail adventure, there is more than meets the eye to Pokémon Snap.

The game's intuitive rating system makes it stand out. New Pokémon Snap has a different developer, Bandai Namco Studios, but they will likely look to improve the game's photo rating system. In the spirit of New Pokémon Snap, here are ten other Nintendo Switch sequels we're dying to see.

10 Pokémon Stadium 3

Now that New Pokémon Snap has been announced, it opens up the door for other sequels. It goes to show that Nintendo isn't afraid to revitalize an old IP (like over twenty years old).

In the same year that the original Pokémon Snap released, Pokémon Stadium also released for the Nintendo 64. The ability to play handheld Pokémon games on your television was a selling point of Pokémon Stadium. Plus, who could forget those beloved mini-games? There is much to relish about the game, which is why we need Pokémon Stadium 3.

9 Donkey Kong Switch

When we mention "Donkey Kong Switch," we refer to a 3D adventure along the lines of Donkey Kong 64. The non-linear composition of Donkey Kong 64 and its intriguing plot involving King K. Rool and Donkey Kong's kidnapped friends was groundbreaking.

Donkey Kong 64 is a product of developer Rare, a company that is now a subsidiary of Microsoft. Perhaps this change in ownership is why a 3D Donkey Kong adventure game hasn't been made. Donkey Kong could be Nintendo's second most prominent character, next to Mario. Surely Nintendo can create a 3D Donkey Kong adventure game without violating trademarks.

8 Super Mario Galaxy 3

Seeing Mario blast off into outer space for a full adventure for the first time was a thrill ride like no other. Super Mario Galaxy is considered one of the greatest Super Mario games of all time because of its inventiveness, among other reasons. Using the Wii's motion controls, you fight a variety of outer space bosses.

The game takes you to different galaxies, which are diverse with varying difficulties. It goes without saying that we want a second sequel on the Nintendo Switch.

7 Super Mario Sunshine 2

According to digitaltrends.com, The Nintendo Switch has sold 55 million units. This would make the Nintendo Switch one of the highest selling Nintendo platforms of all time. It's a chance for Nintendo to bring back old games like Super Mario Sunshine.

Super Mario Sunshine enabled players to have more maneuverability than ever before. The F.L.U.D.D. made the game very non-linear, relating to how you could complete objectives. The F.L.U.D.D. is a water pack that allowed you to jump and levitate like never before.

6 Diddy Kong Racing 2

Diddy Kong Racing was not so much as a close competitor to Mario Kart, but the two existed harmoniously on the Nintendo 64. While Mario Kart was many people's favorite because of more memorable characters and tracks, Diddy Kong Racing was more competitive and had a single-player campaign.

Both games are excellent in their own right, but eight Mario Kart games later, we wish that Diddy Kong Racing had at least one sequel.

5 Luigi's Mansion 4

Luigi's Mansion was widely criticized by critics when the first game was released, despite its receiving a cult-following that demanded a sequel.

The game has grown into a Nintendo staple, and we are eagerly looking forward to the next Luigi's Mansion game. "Filthy annoying plumber. Go back to yer pipes!" It's quotes like these that give Luigi's Mansion originality.

4 Donkey Kong Country 4

We mentioned a 3D Donkey Kong adventure game for the Nintendo Switch, but what about Donkey Kong Country? The Donkey Kong Country series has released hit after hit, which is why a sequel exclusive to the Nintendo Switch is long overdue.

You might remember that Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze was a Wii U game before making its way to the Switch. A minor visual upgrade, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is not the Donkey Kong Country game the Switch needs.

3 Mario Kart 9

To elaborate on the point raised with Donkey Kong Country 4, we can look to Mario Kart 9 on the Nintendo Switch. We don't know if they'll name it Mario Kart 9, but it would be welcomed with open arms on the Switch regardless.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe may have been an exceptional package with all the DLC content, but it wasn't the Switch exclusive we wanted. There's still time, and chances are a new Mario Kart game is in the works.

2 Metroid Prime 4

It is confirmed that Metroid Prime 4 is being developed. We know that the game was early in its development phase when they had to start over from scratch.

Things appeared not to be working out how they hoped, so they are using Retro, the studio that worked on the original Metroid Prime series. Here's another sequel we are eagerly waiting to play.

1 The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is arguably the greatest thing to happen to the Nintendo Switch. It's open-world RPG elements and puzzle-solving are masterclass.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is a long-awaited sequel, even if we've waited significantly shorter than the twenty years for Pokémon Snap. Odds are, they are fast-tracking The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, so we won't have to wait too long for its release.
