Let’s take a peek in to the adorable retro voxelbox Staxel, shall we? When we last reported on this one, it successfully stepped out of early access on PC, bringing its form of construction, hunting, farming, shopping, and questing to players in single or multiplayer. And soon, console players will be able to get in on the action as discussed in a recent dev blog.

Right now the team at Plukit are wrangling the game’s UI into something that’s usable by console players. An example provided is the Totem UI, which will soon have a much clearer list of what items are needed for a building to be upgraded. The UI will also see a consistent overall design and be easier to read on a variety of screen setups. The devs even grant players a free demo of Nexel, a now-abandoned voxel engine project that laid the groundwork for the current Staxel port’s development.

The blog post also had some new for PC players as well, confirming that a new update was in the works that brings a new area to explore and a new quest line among other updates. More information is set to be announced there in the coming weeks.
