Xbox Live Deals With Gold Offers Huge Savings on Big Xbox One Games

Xbox Live subscribers are getting big games including Journey to the Savage Planet, Stardew Valley, and more for this week's Deals with Gold.

Several days ago, Microsoft confirmed the list of free games that Xbox Live Gold subscribers would be able to download for free. These games are WRC 8 FIA World Rally Championship, Dunk Lords, Saints Row 2, and Juju. Now, for those who aren't keen on getting next month's free games, Xbox Live Gold is also offering huge discounts on big games for this week's Deals with Gold.

Headlining the discounted games for Xbox Live Gold subscribers is Journey to the Savage Planet, which is available for $14.99, or 50% off its current list price of $59.99. To the uninitiated, Journey to the Savage Planet was released last January by Typhoon Studios and 505 Games. The game is played from a first-person perspective and tasks players to explore ARY-26, a colorful planet that is inhabited by various alien forms. The player takes control of an employee of Kindred Aerospace who must explore ARY-26 and assess whether it would be suitable to support human life.

Another noteworthy game that Xbox Live Gold subscribers can purchase at a discount this week is Greedfall, which is available for $12.49 or 75% off its current price of $49.99. To those unfamiliar, Greedfall is an action role-playing game that takes place in a 17th century styled fantasy world. Players take the role of De Sardet, who finds himself in the middle of a conflict between colonial forces who discovered an island paradise filled with magic and monsters. Despite being overshadowed by bigger games during its release, Greedfall is considered an honorary Dragon Age game, due to its similarities in structure and gameplay.

For players on the Xbox One looking for a relaxing and charming game, Stardew Valley is currently 30% off for Xbox Live Gold subscribers and is available for $14.99. Heavily inspired by early Harvest Moon games, Stardew Valley is a farming simulator that allows players to live on a remote village, run a farm, mine for resources, battle monsters, and engage in a romantic relationship with a villager. The game is made by sole developer ConcernedApe and has won numerous gaming accolades since its release to the PC in 2016.

Lastly, for players who are into strategy games, Xbox Live is also offering a huge discount on Sid Meyer's Civilization 6, which is available right now for $38.99. Although the game has been released to the PC since 2016, Civilization 6 regained popularity when it was released to the PS4 and Xbox One last November. Similar to its predecessors, Civilization 6 tasks players with developing civilization and become a world power through military domination, technological innovation, and cultural influence.
