Popular British graphic designer XboxPope uploaded his first take on a special-edition PlayStation 5 console based on Sucker Punch Production's Ghost of Tsushima yesterday. Since then he has uploaded a few more impressively detailed concept designs for Sony's upcoming next-generation console based on CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 and Guerrilla Games' Horizon: Forbidden West.

Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed multiple times, most recently earlier this month as the developer decided there needs to be more work put into polishing the world, but it has been confirmed the game will offer free next-generation upgrades to PS5 and Xbox Series X. The recent Night City Wire livestream event showed off more details that got fans excited about the title, whose dingy yellow-and-blue aesthetic is captured by XboxPope's design — particularly thanks to the DualSense controller's glowing blue analog sticks.

The artist's take on Horizon: Forbidden West is equally spot-on, depicting the white shell of its world's mechanical beasts having been overgrown with moss and covered with claw marks. The long-anticipated Horizon: Zero Dawn sequel was first revealed alongside the PS5's design during Sony's "Future of Gaming" livestream on June 11, and since then the studio has been letting out details about its impending release, currently scheduled for 2021.

These concepts are the first that XboxPope has released for Sony's next-generation console because the designs of both the main PS5 and its digital-only counterpart were only recently unveiled. However, they are well known for creating plenty of limited-edition versions of consoles like the Xbox Series X in the past, featuring games like Halo Infinite and Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Though neither Microsoft nor Sony have discussed the price of their next-generation consoles, by now fans are well aware of large titles that will release during their launch windows and technical specs that will define how those games are able to be made. The PS5's DualSense controller in particular stands out as important for gameplay and design purposes because of features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

As the release of these consoles encroach, barring any delays on account of the coronavirus pandemic still affecting much of the world,  hopefully the developers will continue to have more exciting news about games and features. All the while XboxPope will undoubtedly continue to release concepts for consoles like the PS5, so it will be worth watching out for any ideas based on more upcoming titles.

Cyberpunk 2077 releases November 19 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with PS5, Stadia, and Xbox Series X versions also in development.

Horizon Forbidden West launches exclusively for the PlayStation 5 in 2021.
