Although EA's lineup of sports games are often criticized for not revolutionizing their repetitive formulas, they tend to be some of the most popular games of the year, with fans rallying around the newest title in each series and forming a solid online community. With the likes of Madden and NHL under its belt, EA clearly has some of the strongest franchises in the genre as well, equaled only by the likes of 2K when it comes to iconic sports releases.

Perhaps the biggest of these annual sports IPs is FIFA, with the popular soccer game bringing in millions of players every single year. However, it seems players on PC might be missing out on some of FIFA 21's biggest new features, with a new FAQ for the game unveiling that they won't be getting the enhanced version of the title available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Answering the question "which version of FIFA 21 will be available on PC," the official FIFA website revealed that "FIFA 21 on PC will be the same version as released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One." This is obviously a frustrating reveal for soccer fans who aren't thinking of buying into the next wave of consoles, as both the PS5 and Xbox Series X are alleged to be getting an upgraded version of the game with some major new features befitting of much more powerful hardware. The FAQ does state that it will "have more information on it in the coming weeks," so hopefully EA will clear up whether the PC version will be completely without a host of next-generation features.

As for FIFA 21 itself, the game still remains something of a mystery despite EA highlighting the game in its recent Days of Play broadcast, with the release supposedly having a reveal roadmap instead. This will seemingly document exactly what changes have been implemented to the incredibly popular sport's title as the game approaches its October release date, with fans hoping for significant alterations to its gameplay, career mode, commentary, and more.

Alongside that, it seems EA is looking to release a number of next-generation sports games in the coming months, with the company speaking a lot about Madden 21 and NHL 21. Madden even got a preview at the Xbox Series X reveal event, with the showcase highlighting some brand new gameplay as well as the visual fidelity that comes with next-generation hardware. Here's to hoping that PC players can also experience these major enhancements when these games release later this year.

FIFA 21 is slated to release October 9 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
