The inXile Entertainment game Wasteland 3 will be releasing at the end of August, and the studio showed off a trailer at the Future Games Show this week. Before it became known for the Wasteland series, inXile started its life developing 2004's The Bard's Tale, which was remastered in 2017. That version of the ARPG, the "Remastered and Resnarkled" edition, is now available on Xbox One, Game Pass, and Nintendo Switch.

In an announcement post on inXile Entertainment's website, the developer says that, "Much like a first-born child, we won't say it's our favorite ... but we all know the truth." An interview with Brian Fargo, Max Kaufman, and Matt Findley from inXile was also posted to Xbox Wire yesterday to celebrate the wider release.

While much of the studio's current focus is on getting Wasteland 3 out the door, the Xbox Game Studio has a "solo AAA RPG" planned to go into development soon after. Its upcoming game will utilize Unreal Engine 5 on next-generation consoles, which was announced soon after Epic Games' new engine was revealed as part of Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest.

As various digital showcases have taken place over the last few weeks in the absence of live mainstays such as E3, titles such as Hello Games' No Man's Sky have also been released on Xbox Game Pass. Xbox Game Pass also includes two Kingdom Hearts bundles this month, covering the entire series.

The Bard's Tale: Remastered and Resnarkled is available now for PS4, PS Vita, Switch, and Xbox One.
