One of the most bizarre Call of Duty game modes is Prop Hunt, wherein some players take to the battlefield as the usual soldiers, and others take the form of random inanimate objects blending in with the environment. The strange and oftentimes hilarious game mode has been featured in multiple Call of Duty games in the past, but has yet to appear in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. However, a datamine suggests that could be changing in the near future, and the mode may even come to Call of Duty: Warzone in some capacity.
This information stems from a datamine conducted by Geeky Pastimes a couple of days after Warzone Season 4 launched. According to Geeky Pastimes, there is potential evidence of Prop Hunt "somehow linked to Warzone" in the game's files, though they conceded that it is possible it is something that they don't understand exactly and could be misinterpreting. But while there is no actual confirmation that Prop Hunt is coming to Warzone, if it does, one has to imagine that it would come in the form of a limited-time event as opposed to a permanent game mode.
Prop Hunt on such a large scale sounds like a lot of fun in theory, but in practice, it may not live up to expectations. Call of Duty fans won't know unless Infinity Ward tries it, so it would definitely be interesting to see a take on Prop Hunt in the Call of Duty: Warzone battle royale.
A more likely scenario is Prop Hunt coming to the standard Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer component. This seems like it would make the most sense, especially since Infinity Ward has already shown a willingness to throw unrealistic game modes into the standard multiplayer mix with stuff like Infection.
It's also possible that Prop Hunt isn't going to be added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's multiplayer or the Warzone battle royale at all. Sometimes dataminers find stuff in game files that never actually get added to the game in any meaningful capacity, so fans should keep their expectations in check.
