Owlchemy Labs has released the trailer for Vacation Simulator: Back to Job. The free DLC will add gigs to players' VR vacation experience. This fall, Gigbot invites players to operate the Vacation Simulator poolside Cantina. It may not be the most beautiful gaming destination, but it's quite nice.

The trailer released today shows a poolside around which a parade of bots approach the booth. The human behind the counter must fulfill customers' every request, which typically involves, in classic VR fashion, throwing the item in question in the customer's face. Inevitably, the pool behind them fills with goods that end up drifting around in lazy circles.

Vacation Simulator debuted in the summer of 2019 for Playstation VR, featuring floating bots with tinny voices and attitudes all their own. Vacation spots from the simulated sandy beach to the virtually frigid mountains offered players a way to get away from it all without even leaving the house. Until now, players stayed on the customer side of the counter. Not anymore.

It's fortunate Owlchemy Labs, among others, is releasing free content now, especially when players might appreciate the experience of getting back to work. "Our Gig network will give you the chance to meet an exciting array of different Bots," writes Devin Remier, CEO of Alchemy Labs. "We need you to cook, advise, entertain, and do whatever it takes to provide 5-star service."

The implication is that there are other gigs to be done around Vacation Island, all under the direction (though perhaps not supervision) of Gigbot. There will be plenty for a bored human to do, as they can collect memories of taking odd jobs around Vacation Island, and a selfie behind the counter won't hurt either.

Vacation Simulator is available now for PC and PS4.
