As more news continues to roll out about new multiplayer games, many players are interested in the idea of cross-play and cross-progression. Coming hot off the heels of cross-play being announced for No Man's Sky, developer First Watch Games has now announced that Rogue Company will also feature cross-play across all platforms.

First Watch Games is a new development studio being backed by Hi-Rez Studios. Players will recognize Hi-Rez Studios from its work on games like SMITE and PaladinsRogue Company will be First Watch Games' first game released, and is described as a third-person shooter focusing on a colorful cast of mercenaries.

During the Future Games Show on Saturday, First Watch Games announced that Rogue Company will be fully cross-play across PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One. This will make the game the 17th game to feature full cross-platform compatibility, joining the likes of Rocket League and Call of Duty: Warzone.

While many players will be thrilled at the announcement of full cross-play, some may still be less enthusiastic about the prospect. Recently, players have become frustrated in games like Call of Duty: Warzone for including PC players in games with console players. This comes mostly from the fact that PC players seem to have a distinct advantage over console players with higher graphics capabilities, as well as faster reaction times with a mouse and keyboard. Hopefully, players won't run into similar issues with Rogue Company when it launches free-to-play later this year.

Rogue Company is set to release in 2020 on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
