Surgeon Simulator, the bizarre and hilarious physics-based surgery sim, is getting a sequel. Even better, it's launching in August. Originally unveiled during The Game Awards 2019, a new trailer for Surgeon Simulator 2 revealed gameplay for the first time and it's just as amazing as expected.

Bossa Studios has been teasing Surgeon Simulator 2 gameplay since the game's announcement 5 months ago. Now, the new trailer makes clear that Surgeon Simulator 2 will be dramatically different than the original game. The game has 4-player co-op, grants each player free movement, and has a sort of progression that allows players to customize their in-game character with new cosmetic unlocks.

Most importantly, however, Surgeon Simulator manages to retain the same completely awkward physics-based gameplay of the original game, too. Players have one arm that sticks out in front of them and they're able to rotate the hand, move it back and forth, and grasp with it. The rest is up to the player. Unfortunately, the surgery is just the start of gameplay in Surgeon Simulator 2.

Gameplay in Surgeon Simulator 2 has been expanded well beyond replacing organs and limbs. It features increasingly complex puzzles that require players to explore their surroundings, find important puzzle pieces, and then often put together Bob the patient in a very specific order. If Bob bleeds out, don't worry, there's always another Bob.

Surgeon Simulator 2 releases in August on PC.
