Destiny 2 is bringing fans back to their glory days by reinstating the Vault of Glass raid. This info comes by way of Luke Smith, the game director of Bungie's hig title, so the source is more than credible. In his tweet, Smith simply states that the Vault of Glass will be returning in year 4.

For those unfamiliar with the original Destiny, Vault of Glass was the first ever raid in both the game and the franchise as a whole, so its return to Destiny 2 is something of a big deal. This raid sees players face off against the Vex and attempt to stop the time bending Atheon.

Smith confirms that the raid will return in year 4, which means it should arrive sometime in 2021. As of now, there is no other information about when exactly it will be added to Destiny 2, but the fact that it's happening at all is enough to make veterans jump with joy.

The tweet uses the somewhat cryptic phrase "Not everything is lost to the dark corners of time" before laying it out in plain writing for fans. At the moment the jury is out on whether or not this will be a part for part recreation of the original raid or a new adventure within the infamous vault, but fans are sharing their excitement nonetheless. Throughout the original Destiny's run, Vault of Glass stayed at the top as one of fans' favorite raids, so it is no surprise to see this much support for its return.

One thing in particular that fans seem excited about is the potential return of Vault of Glass specific raid weapons such as the Fatebringer hand cannon or the Praedyth's Revenge sniper rifle. These were incredibly powerful weapons back in their heyday and it will be interesting to see how they hold up should they return in year 4 of Destiny 2. It will also be fun to see newer players get the chance to experience the Vault of Glass' many challenges like the Gorgons and the Templar for the first time. No doubt it will take some guidance from experienced players to come out on top of this one.

Year 4 is setting itself up to be a big year for Destiny 2, but it is too bad that fans still have so long to wait for it. Beyond that, it is a rather large window as well, so with any luck more specific information about the Vault of Glass raid will be made available soon.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
