The continued effort by gaming companies to clear their chat of hate has another large contributor: EA Sports.

In a statement posted to Twitter, the EA Sports brand outlined several actions being taken in order to attack racist and hateful speech in its catalogue of titles, including active and regular reviews of its filtered terms to account for multiple languages, dialects, and slang; an increase in reporting tool functionality; and an increased frequency of reviewing offenses due to what the statement calls “the high volume of toxic behavior within some of [EA’s] games.” EA Sports will also be adding more dedicated resources to review teams.

“Toxic behaviors changes and evolves rapidly and we recognize that we need to do more to actively monitor and remove those individuals who perpetuate racist, xenophobic, homophobic, or sexist behaviors in our games,” reads the statement.

In related news, Sony’s PS5 reveal event that was delayed in order to let nationwide protests take center stage has officially been rescheduled. The event will now premiere this Thursday, June 11th, at 4:00 p.m. EDT.
