When Fallout 76 released, a vast number of players were upset over the unreliability of the game's servers, a variety of bugs, and other issues that plagued the game. One issue that bogged Bethesda's reputation at the time was the unforgiving refund policy for Fallout 76, though this is about to change for players who purchased the game from EB Games in Australia.

Following a number of complaints from players who purchased copies of Fallout 76 from EB Games in Australia, EB Games will now be complying by refunding consumers. This is likely due to the fact that the company recognizes its misleading of players by telling them that they could not be recompensated for the game's unpreparedness, which was evidenced by a multitude of glitches and other problems.

Specifically, those who will be receiving refunds in Australia are those asked for a refund directly from EB Games during the period of November 14, 2018, to October 31, 2019. As per the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission, it is reiterated that retailers are obligated to provide necessary compensation for a product that fundamentally fails. Further, the staff of retailers are also ordered to not mislead consumers in the manner that they had been with Fallout 76.

For Australian Fallout 76 players still seeking a refund after being denied one, July 31 is the last day to request a refund from EB Games. However, as mentioned previously, this only applies to purchasers of the game within a given time period.

It has taken a while before the retailer admitted its faults, but those in Australia who were waiting for a refund for their copy of Fallout 76 can now rejoice. As the game was overwhelmingly buggy from the start, many were frustrated with retailers' responses that no refund could be made. However, changes are being made.

Yet, these changes are coming at a time when Fallout 76 has improved drastically since its release. While the recent release of the Wastelanders DLC has brought about its share of glitches, it has added some much-needed depth to the game. However, Australian players who remain unsatisfied with the experience and are awaiting a refund from EB Games should contact the retailer as soon as possible.

Fallout 76 is currently available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
