Ship of Heroes preps June test run with new animations and better performance

It’s June, folks, and you know what that means: Ship of Heroes’ promised next test.

“Today is June 1st and we said we are targeting June for the time of the next event — an invasion test,” Heroic Games wrote this morning. “Things are going well so far in our testing. But we have found a few things that cause us to pause and make adjustments. That is not unexpected, and we are still expecting to have the invasion event this month.”

Heroic’s Casey McGeever says the team will be upgrading to Unreal Engine 4.25 this month; players can expect improved FX, especially during big battles, revised animations, and “a slightly faster hi-intensity server” for the test. “Once we complete the upgrade to UE 4.25, we will finalize the new FX, and hopefully be on our way to the event,” he says.
