In the new YouTube video, Microsoft Flight Simulator's lead designer, Damien Cuzacq talked about how the plane navigation systems work in-game. In order to make the flight navigation as realistic as possible, Asobo Studio has partnered with NAVBLUE, a flight software company. The game will use NAVBLUE's data on restricted airspaces, waypoints, radio navigation systems, and localizers. To ensure that the game stays current, Asobo will update the in-game nav data every 28 days. This follows the real-life procedure for regulatory updates.

Asobo's use of the NAVBLUE data definitely excited flight simulator fans. In the YouTube comments, fans talked about how glad they were that the developer included important in-flight factors like SIDs and STARs. Additionally, commenters gushed about how the airports now had "multiple ground frequencies." The developer's design choices here will definitely cater to flight simulator enthusiasts. Some hardcore players are known for getting similar data to enhance their experiences, so using this data may save these players some time modding. Fans also praised the other new features in the video. While some praised the AI autopilot, others marveled at the graphics in the Microsoft Flight Simulator footage. Specifically, commenters pointed out how beautiful the view was as the plane broke through the clouds.

Although its latest design choice might appeal more to veterans of its genre, Microsoft Flight Simulator should still appear to awestruck newcomers for its beautiful graphics. As the next generation of consoles approaches, the Xbox exclusive should be an interesting indicator of what's to come.
