The hints continue to point to a crossover between two massive Ubisoft franchises. Rainbow Six Siege's season 3 has not yet arrived. But leaks point to Rainbow Six Siege's next operator coming from Splinter Cell, something fans have been clamoring for for quite some time.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell has long been one of the favorite franchises under Ubisoft's umbrella. Fans adore the franchise and believe that the stealth-based Sam Fisher would be a great fit inside of another Tom Clancy title. A recent datamine for Rainbow Six Siege reveals that the season 3 operator may indeed be a Splinter Cell character.

Known leaker Kormora posted on forum site "ResetEra" that they have some inside information on who the next operator will be. Specifically, Komora said that "the season 3 operator will be a crossover with a well known Ubisoft franchise." The leaker also noted that the season 3 operator would use a "drilled camera that sees through walls." A crossover between Siege and Splinter Cell wouldn't be the first time Sam Fisher jumped into other Ubisoft games, as Sam Fisher came to Ghost Recon Breakpoint as DLC.

siege year 5 roadmap

Ubisoft has unveiled the roadmap for year 5 of Siege, and with it fans have been able to see that maps were be reworked, operators are being altered, and some gameplay tweaks are on the way. But of course, fresh operators will also be a part of each new season in year 5, and who each operator is has not yet been announced.

Operators were leaked for season 2 of year 5 before it got started. And now that season 3 is beginning to get a bit closer, fans are wondering who might be the operator of that season as well. One of the intriguing aspects about the roadmap is that there is a massive "classified" label slapped on the season 3 logo, while the others do not have this. This certainly makes it seem like there is some extra importance to the season 3 operator, perhaps pointing to someone like Sam Fisher.

Many fans hope that all of these Splinter Cell crossovers are just a stand-in for a full-fledged game, as the series has been on quite the hiatus. Whenever Ubisoft does bring back Sam Fisher in his own game, it will be the perfect opportunity to revive the stealth-action genre.

Rainbow Six Siege is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and plans to release for next-gen consoles.
