Earlier this year, Sony launched the official PlayStation 5 website, letting players sign up for the latest PS5 news. Now Sony has updated the site, and while it doesn't reveal any significant new information about the PS5, it does add some new flavor text and could very well be an indication that the proper unveiling is coming sooner rather than later.

As spotted by Resetera user Pranay, the PS5 website has been updated to include some new text that describes the next-generation console's features. More specifically, it hypes up the PS5's "lightning speed," saying that it will "rewrite the rules of what a PlayStation console can do." It also talks about the "breathtaking immersion" that the PS5 console will offer to players, which will be accomplished through DualSense haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and 3D Audio.

However, perhaps the most notable change to the PS5 website is a new line about "stunning games" that will have "incredible graphics" and show off "new PS5 features." While it's possible that this text was added to the PS5 website just to give it more flavor, it's also within the realm of possibility that this update is preceding the big reveal from Sony that PlayStation fans have been waiting all year to see.

ps5 website update sony

At the time of this writing, Sony still has yet to announce an official PS5 reveal date. However, reputable industry insiders have claimed that the PS5 reveal will take place on June 4. Sony itself that it has an impressive lineup of PS5 games it plans on showcasing soon, and so it does seem as though there is a pretty big chance that the PS5 reveal will take place at some point in June.

However, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic is something that fans will need to take into consideration when it comes to the PS5 reveal. The coronavirus pandemic has reportedly already caused Sony to push back its PS5 reveal plans, and it's certainly within the realm of possibility that it could push its plans back yet again. Considering this, PS5 fans may want to hold off on circling any dates on their calendars just yet.

When the PlayStation 5 is finally revealed, it will be interesting to see what it looks like, what the PS5 price will be, and when fans will actually be able to purchase the console for themselves. Here's hoping that this update to the PS5 website is a sign that the wait for more PS5 news will soon be over.
