Pokemon GO is once again letting fans of the popular augmented reality mobile game vote for which Pokemon will be featured in upcoming Community Day events. The two Pokemon with the most votes will be featured in the June and July Community Day events respectively, and right now Weedle has the most votes with 34.1% at the time of this writing.

Some fans may be confused as to why Weedle is winning the Pokemon GO Community Day voting contest. After all, Weedle is one of the most common Pokemon GO Pokemon, and it's safe to say that many fans already have it and all its evolved forms. However, there are actually a couple of different reasons as to why Pokemon GO players are voting for Weedle Community Day over the other options in the poll.

One of the main reasons is that there has never been a Weedle Community Day, nor an event revolving around Weedle. This means that it has been comparatively difficult for Pokemon GO players to get shiny Weedle, Kakuna, and Beedrill for their collection. Shiny Beedrill seems to be especially desired by Pokemon GO fans, and Weedle Community Day will virtually guarantee that they will be able to get at least one shiny Beedrill in Pokemon GO.

The other reason why Pokemon GO players are voting for Weedle Community Day is because of Beedrill's proficiency in the Battle League. So not only would Weedle Community Day allow Pokemon GO players to get shiny Beedrill, but they would be able to get a shiny Beedrill that knows Drill Run, which will be useful for the game's PvP mode. This gives Beedrill a lot more use than some of the other potential Community Day Pokemon in the lineup.

As for the Pokemon that will be featured in the other July Community Day, it's looking like Gastly will be picked. Gastly currently has 32.4% of the vote at the time of this writing, and with the poll ending later today, it seems likely that the ghost-type Pokemon will be the other featured Pokemon. Squirtle is in third place, but is trailing considerably and it seems unlikely that it will pull ahead of either Gastly or Weedle, especially since over 600,000 votes have already been counted.

Pokemon GO is available now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
