Announced shortly before last year's E3, the remake of Destroy All Humans! has quickly become one of the most exciting releases of this year, boasting the same addicting gameplay which made its source material such a beloved cult-classic alongside some stellar new visuals. Since its announcement, fans have seen a lot more of the title's gameplay, which seems to faithfully recreate the chaotic third-person shooter's classic shooting mechanics.

However, it seems THQ Nordic wanted to give fans a little more to chew on before Destroy All Humans! releases in July, with the company dropping a new trailer focused around the game's intro sequence. The trailer, which clocks in at just over a minute long, is titled "Welcome to Turnipseed Farm," and follows the first level of the original game. While the sequence is one that's been shown off prior in the title's recent gameplay showcases, here it's edited together with some fun voice-over and a snappier style.

The trailer begins with the game's protagonist, Crypto, landing on Turnipseed Farm, with the voice-over depicting him announcing his invasion of the planet. It then shows him lifting and throwing a series of cows in a muddy field using his telekinesis, before the soundtrack quickly revs up into a heavy metal ballad, and Crypto begins turning his attention towards the human occupants of the farm. Using his Zap-O-Matic electricity gun, the vicious alien begins mercilessly killing a number of shotgun-toting farmers and several members of the police force who show up to join the battle. Throughout this section, the trailer shows Crypto use a number of his signature attacks, even holding a farmer in the air using telekinesis while frying a second opponent using his gun.

Eventually, Crypto decides to take the fight to the air, hopping into his flying saucer to rain death down upon the farm. Here he blows up several buildings using his death ray, with Destroy All Humans! modern physics allowing for the buildings to explode with more hellishly over the top detail than before. It seems Crypto's actions haven't gone unnoticed, however, with a series of army trucks turning up to knock the UFO out of the sky. The end of the trailer sees the saucer vanquish its human foes, annihilating them with extreme force.

It seems Destroy All Humans! is launching at the perfect time, with remakes becoming a significant trend in modern gaming. Not only will the original Mafia be getting a major reimagining later this year, but SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated and Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 will also be dropping later in 2020 as well.

Destroy All Humans! will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on July 28, 2020.
