Path of Exile is trying its darndest to get a content update out in June

Usually here at Massively OP we tend to mock announcements about announcements, but in the case of Path of Exile, we are willing to give it a pass due to (a) Grinding Gear already tweaking its own nose and (b) the studio’s earnest desire to keep communication flowing between the developer and the playerbase.

In this case, the “tentative announcement about the announcement” concerns Path of Exile’s next content update, which the studio says should come at some point in June.

The studio said that working from home has slowed development somewhat, causing a delay and possibly triggering another one if the job can’t get done in time. What we do know is that, one way or another, the patch’s launch date will be firmed up by June 2nd, although Grinding Gear said that it is trying to target June 19th on the PC and the 24th for console.

“The pandemic has made safely predicting the release date of this league very difficult. There’s currently a reasonable possibility that the expansion will be delayed by an additional week and a low chance that it will be delayed further beyond that,” the studio explained.
