The second half of May has brought an International Museum Day stamp rally to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, letting players explore Blathers' museum on their islands for the chance to win plaques they can display over their own collections. For those who want to pad out their museums by raiding treasures from ancient tombs, the Tomb Raider developers have released custom designs to dress up like the iconic Lara Croft.

In a Tumblr post titled "Tomb Raider <3's Animal Crossing: New Horizons," the series developers uploaded three custom designs based on Lara Croft's outfits across various appearances: Her classic 1996 look, her black outfit from 2003's Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness, and her more gritty beat-up clothing from the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot. By using the creator code MA-5858-0335-8877 in the Able Sisters' shop kiosk, players can download outfits "for all 8 in-game skin tones available where applicable."

The developers say that one thing they "adore" about the Tomb Raider community is how the series becomes a "way of life" for fans. They encourage this lifestyle by also providing a "shopping guide" in the Tumblr post so players know which other pieces to buy if they want the official Lara Croft looks in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, including for "Lara Croft-inspired" outfits.

At the end of the post it is said that there have been QR codes developed to use Tomb Raider custom framed art and a Lara Croft island flag, however those codes have not yet been released as of this writing. Other companies like Xbox and Adult Swim have jumped on the custom design bandwagon in the past, which makes sense given the game's creative potential and huge install base.

In fact video games are not the only entities which have been posting about their New Horizons exploits since the game released in March. Last week Twitter Gaming revealed an entire island designed to referencing the social media app, right down to hashtags laid out with fields of blue flowers.

For those who want to see the roles reversed so Animal Crossing appears in other games, Nintendo has a solution for that. The free-to-play battle royale Tetris 99 is running an Animal Crossing Maximus Cup that can award those who play with a reskin based on the wildly popular New Horizons.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
