Borderlands 3's Loot the Universe Nekrotafeyo kicked off just yesterday, and players have now learned that the festivities actually extend beyond a single planet. Indeed, Gearbox Software has decided to incorporate the six Proving Grounds into this final Loot the Universe event, and fans that want to farm for Legendary shotguns will need to visit the Trial of Survival. For those players that may have forgotten the Trial of Survival location in Borderlands 3, this guide looks to provide assistance.

To note, players that have previously unlocked the Trial of Survival in Borderlands 3 can easily return there by way of the Drop Pod on Sanctuary 3. Specifically, they should choose "Gradient of Dawn" from the map select and then speak with the Overseer to initiate the Proving Ground. That said, things are a little more complicated for fans that have not visited BL3's Trial of Survival before, and here are the details that those players will need.

Borderlands 3 Trial of Survival Location

Unlocking Borderlands 3's Trial of Survival begins with a trip to Devil's Razor on Pandora, and it advisable for players to spawn in at the Boomtown fast travel station. From there, fans should navigate to the location marked on the map below where they will find a pedestal inside of a cave. Interacting with this pedestal will grant players with a quest called "Discover the Trial of Survival," and they will simply need to follow the onscreen prompts to visit this Proving Ground in BL3.

Once a player has reached the Trial of Survival location in Borderlands 3 and interacted with the Overseer, they will then need to fight their way through three waves of enemies. Fans that are successful in defeating these foes will then encounter a final boss, and hopefully those players that are currently participating in the Loot the Universe Nekrotafeyo event will be rewarded with one of the best Legendary shotguns in BL3.

After a player has tackled the Trial of Survival they may then be interested in trying their hand at some of the other Proving Grounds in the game. There is also always Borderlands 3's Mayhem Mode, which fans that are looking for more post-game challenges may want to consider activating. Certainly, there is no shortage of content for players to enjoy after completing BL3, and the Trial of Survival is just one small piece of that.

Borderlands 3 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
