The Overwatch devs have added a new Orisa ability that's left some players feeling unsettled. Orisa's new ability allows her to climb the walls.

When Lucio trended on Twitter last month, the Overwatch fandom was getting a chance at a free headset. Now, Overwatch is having a moment on Twitter because of a creepy spider-crawl.

When Twitter user Holiwhirl suggested that Orisa be able to wall climb, the official Overwatch Twitter responded by releasing a clip of Orisa walking up walls and even executing a few flips. The tweet entertained some players, but others found the animation disturbing. Some commentators, jokingly asked if the Overwatch devs were "doing okay", and former OWL pro Scott "Custa" Kennedy even said the clip was "terrifying". Some fans even pointed out that "no one asked for this" with the exception of one Twitter user.

The Overwatch fanbase is active in making requests and suggestions, and some of these suggestions are ones that fans wish hadn't been implemented. Torb's wall run for example, inspired by a sign at an OWL broadcast, made many players uncomfortable. Other suggestions, such as reworking Mei into a Tank, have been more serious (and potentially useful) but not been implemented.

Ever since her release in 2017, Orisa has been an interesting, if controversial, hero. For the most part, she slides under the radar when compared to other, more popular heroes. The new wall climb might be the most players have talked about Orisa on social media since her release, beside basic strategizing. And if players are shocked by an animation of Orisa climbing in such an unusual way, it's arguable that she's designed in an unusual way, as well.

The ability hasn't been dropped in Live Mode, and many fans are glad for that. Even though many fans seem to be unhappy with the clip, this looks like a dev just having some fun with hero animations. There have been no plans announced for this to drop in Live Mode. Besides, Blizzard's relationship with its fanbase is not something that would be ruined by a creepy animation, especially since Blizzard just announced huge upcoming changes to the Hero Pools, something fans have been requesting for a while now.

Overwatch is available to play now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
