Population Zero is back on track with May roadmap, promising optimization, balancing, and character visual tweaks

Yesterday, we covered the shaky launch of Population Zero and the apologies of the devs at Enplex Games, who admitted there were technical problems as well as confusion about the content and pricing of the early access survival MMO’s DLC. The team also promised a May and June roadmap in the near future, and as it turns out, that near future is now, at least for the outlook for the rest of May.

Notably, the studio is focused on co-op, optimization, bank storage, questing, hubs, and hunger this week; frame rate, footprints, account progression, perk rebalancing, resources and gathering, mob AI, and crafting next week; continuing optimization and rebalancing for stamina and perks the week after that; and then by the end of the month, character visuals, animation, and the friends UI.

In the meantime, Enplex has already rolled out a hotfix to make the process of grouping with friends in-game much easier. “Now, you can join your fellow colonists despite the concurrent players limit, required game account level, and the 24-hour user allocation restriction,” the devs write.

The game is on sale on Steam right now for $24.89 US, with reviews that have shifted from mostly negative to mixed over the last few days.
