In case you missed it, a new game from Amazon Game Studios, dubbed Crucible, is set to release on May 20. Here are the details.

It’s billed as an F2P shooter and you can find the Steam page here. According to the official blurb on the site, it’s defined as a, “free-to-play team-based action shooter where your gameplay is defined by the choices you make.”

You’ll be able to pick one of 10 Hunters upon which you’ll join a match with several teammates. Each of these Hunters comes with its own abilities. Before each match, you’ll be able to select which upgrades you want to unlock over the course of the match as you continue to level up.

Throughout the match, you’ll hunt for a resource called Essence which can be earned by killing other players, creatures, or controlling objectives. Collecting Essence helps you level. Three game modes will be available at launch called Heart of the Hives, Harvester Command, and Alpha Hunters.

Heart of the Hives will see two teams of four players fighting against hives which will spawn across the maps. You’ll want to capture the heart of the hives, with three captures seeing victory. Harvest Command sees two teams of eight players in a game of capture points. Basically, capture and hold certain points for Essence. Alpha Hunters is basically just two teams of eight in a straight up fight.
