Cyberpunk 2077 is given a R18+ rating in Australia

CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 has been given a R18+ rating in Australia.

As reported by GameSpot, the eagerly-anticipated RPG will not be censored in Australia. The country is known for its strict criteria when rating games, having refused classification of various titles.

Australians will get to experience Cyberpunk 2077 in all its glory as no adjustments were made to get the game rated. The game is set to be violent with a lot of sex and drugs.

"Receiving an age rating in Australia was an important milestone on our way to releasing the game in September," said CD Projekt Red's Kuba Kutrzuba.

"We're creating a mature title for a mature audience, so we were expecting R 18+. We haven't had to alter the game in any way, and Australian gamers are set to enjoy the full Cyberpunk 2077 experience."

Last month, Brazil classified the game as 18+. Cyberpunk was sent globally to age classification boards in March. CD Projekt Red claimed the game had been assessed in April.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on September 17th for PC, consoles and Stadia.
