Nintendo Switch owners who are fans of old-school retro games are in for a treat as Hamster Corporation is set to add several titles to its Arcade Archives. Hamster’s next slew of games will bring back arcade classics such as BurgerTime, Burnin’ Rubber, Darwin 4078, and Trio the Punch.

Hamster’s Arcade Archives has provided Switch owners with plenty of arcade fun in the past, having ported versions of Donkey Kong, Punch-Out!! and Frogger to Nintendo’s colorful, portable console. Each game has been presented in a way that attempts to capture the arcade experience of yesteryear and retails at $7.99 per title.

Notably, all of the games were originally created by Data East. Arguably, the most well known of this latest crop would be BurgerTime, which was first released in 1982. The game sees Peter Pepper attempt to assemble burgers as he avoids hot dogs, pickles, and eggs. Burnin’ Rubber allows players to leap over obstacles while they attempt to force other vehicles to crash in their efforts to get to the end of the track.

Darwin 4078 is a vertical scrolling shoot-em-up that allows gamers to evolve their ship into different forms. Trio the Punch is a beat ‘em up that sees the player choose from three playable characters as they fight their way through 35 levels of arcade action. It’s worth noting that there is no set release date at the time of writing. Additionally, Hamster has indicated that future releases in the Arcade Archives could be impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, meaning this forthcoming collection could be the last additions for a while.
