Alongside its Coop Loot Drop Event, Borderlands 3 is giving players even more reason to grind for loot. This week, developer Gearbox Software announced two additional in-game bonuses: Rare Chest Riches and Loot Monster Mayhem.

Both Borderlands 3 events are meant to give players even more loot, specifically legendary loot. Since many people are playing games more than ever, Gearbox Software wanted to ensure that Borderlands 3 felt like their time was rewarded. It also is a nice bonus to get players back into the game if they have spent any time away.

Rare Chest Riches, as the name implies, gives players better odds at obtaining loot from chests. Specifically, red chests will have an increased chance of offering legendary gear. Most players have their red chest routes when logging into Borderlands 3, but this event should encourage more comprehensive runthroughs. The Rare Chest Riches event will last until April 16 at 8:59am PT.

This isn't the first time that Borderlands 3 has buffed red chest loot drops before, but considering that a new DLC called Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright and Hammerlock released in late February and included a level cap increase, players might find themselves in need of a loot boost. Red chests are typically rewarding on their own but with the combination of all of the Coop Loot Drop activities going on, players should find themselves swimming in legendary weapons and gear.

The other bonus loot event that will run until April 16 is called the Loot Monster Mayhem. For this event, Borderlands 3 players will have increased odds of seeing loot enemies during their playthrough, which in turn will drop more legendary gear.

As mentioned, the recent crisis has given players more time to game than ever and many live service games have tried to capitalize on the influx in their communities. Borderlands 3 has followed the familiar route of introducing a month-long event that throws a lot of the rules of rewards out the window in favor of giving players as much loot as they want.

The Coop Loot Drop Event is still the focus of the month, offering players increased rewards when they play with a friend. But these other two add-ons to the event are sure to have those more hardcore players feeling an urge to jump back into the game.

Borderlands 3 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
