Demand for jigsaw puzzles have spiked because of COVID-19, puzzle making companies have confirmed. While some game developers think that COVID-19 could change the way that people buy games, the same seems to be happening to other forms of gaming.

Speaking to CBC, Leon Stein, the vice president of marketing at online jigsaw puzzle retailer Puzzle Master said that "we've had a business for 30 years and we've never seen anything like this" and revealed that the company sold six to eight months supply of puzzles in just five days. Dave Manga of puzzle maker Outset Media joked that "it's almost like it's the next toilet paper." Looking at the way that people in real life and in games are spending huge amounts on toilet paper, that can only be a good thing for puzzle makers and retailers.

The growing demand for jigsaw puzzles is largely because people are looking for things to do as they are in the house because of COVID-19. Health organizations are asking people to stay home and play games and puzzles, which can take huge amounts of time to complete and are also very relaxing, will be a popular choice.

Super Mario jigsaw puzzle difficult

One good choice for gamers could be the Super Mario jigsaw puzzle, which has been called the Dark Souls of puzzles. The retailers says that they are selling out of puzzles and that it has been difficult to find stock again though so gamers may have to look at several online stores before they manage to buy one.
