The rumor mill surrounding Rockstar Games' next project, thought to be Grand Theft Auto 6, is getting out of control. Speculation has grown so wild that it's even prompting a response from individuals associated with Rockstar. Voice actor Ned Luke, who voiced Michael in Grand Theft Auto 5, felt it necessary to address recent rumors in a recent live stream with Franklin voice actor Shawn Fonteno. Needless to say, Luke doesn't have a high opinion about these rumormongers.

"People, do you not understand? Do not believe anything that you see on the internet from, you know, BossMan****TheWorld, or whatever his name is," is the heart of Luke's sentiment. He's specifically referring to one popular YouTuber named MrBossFTW that puts out Grand Theft Auto-focused content. Their content often includes rumors, regardless of their source or credibility. Luke has clearly taken issue with this specific YouTuber's content.

Specifically, Luke refers to one rumor. That rumor being that Grand Theft Auto 6 will take place in Vice City. Luke explicitly seems to be encouraging Grand Theft Auto fans not to believe that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be in Vice City, though he's overall against rumor-mongering in general. "If you hear it from Rockstar, then you know. If you don't hear it from Rockstar, you don't know ****," is Luke's final message on the subject.

Of all the rumors going around about Grand Theft Auto 6, the Vice City rumor is one of the least reliable, but most common. It goes all the way back to two years ago in May 2018. YouTube channel The Know, well known for unreliable rumors, claimed Grand Theft Auto 6 would be set in both Liberty City and Vice City. The rumor reappeared in 2019, based off of a Pastebin text file. And the rumor has persisted since. All referenced sources were anonymous.

The question becomes whether Luke has any insider information. If Luke does, he's telling fans not to believe a false rumor. If he doesn't, he's just voicing frustration with the Grand Theft Auto scene's rumor-mongering.

Grand Theft Auto 6 rumor-mongering is going to continue. That's especially true when a voice actor puts the game down on their resume, having worked on it in 2018. With reliable rumors like that circulating, it gives substance to other rumors. That doesn't make those other rumors any more or less true, but it does justify the Grand Theft Auto community's willingness to give them consideration. It's likely only to grow all the wilder until Rockstar starts making official comments, regardless of whether people think it should happen or not.

Grand Theft Auto 6 remains unannounced.
